***Re-Install Windows 98***
Disclaimer - Do this at your own risk
1. Backup data.
2. Save Applications that you do not have the installation disks (if possible)
3. Verify the system drivers used by system. (use aida32)
4. Boot with StartUp Disk. (ControlPanel->Add/remove programs->CreateStartupDisk)
(boot disk must have a cd driver)
5. At a: prompt type: c:\windows\command\deltree /y c:\windows
(this will delete the windows directory)
6. Put the Windows 98 (second editon) in CD
7. At a: prompt type: d:setup - follow prompts

From the command window (run-cmd)
type: dir>filename
You can then open filename and print from notepad

* Gpedit.msc: Opens the Group Policy Microsoft Management Console.
* Regedt32: Opens the Windows 2000 Registry Editor.
* ftp: ftp window
* dcomcnfg: Distributed COM configuration properties
* mmc: microsoft managment console
* ntbackup ;backup
* msinfo32 ; system information
* wab ; address book
* .. ; (two periods) explore your root directory

* copy *.plt "\\server1\engineering pcl" (path to network printer)
* type d:\filename.prt>"\\server1\engineering pcl" (path to network printer)
* ipconfig: reports ip address
* renew
* release
* netstat (active connections)

- Delete files (skip Recycle Bin): Shift-Delete (cannot retrieve)
- Restart Windows : Shift-Shutdown-OK
- RMB (right mouse button) without mouse :Shift-F10
- Windows Explorer column width (details view): Ctrl++ (control and +)
- Browser history: Ctrl+H
- Browser find: Ctrl+F
- Browser New Window (on current url) : Ctrl+N
- Browser New Window for a link : Right click the link and select new window
- Address bar or IE url: Alt+D
- IE add www and .com to address: Ctrl,Enter (after typing the url)
- IE or Windows Explorer Recent Addresses: F4
- Close Active Window: Ctrl+W or Alt+F4
- IE home page: Alt+Home
